A new series for Bethany House

Hey everyone,

I wanted to tell you about a new series I’m starting for Bethany House, entitled “The Canadian kath3Crossings“. The premise is that three strangers meet on a ship crossing from England to Canada and become friends. The time is 1919 and it’s right after the end of World War I. Each of the characters has their own reasons for making the week-long voyage, and each will have their own book.

Book I is tentatively called “Lifted by Grace“. Grace has come to Toronto to find her sister, Rose, now a war widow with an infant son. However, things go horribly wrong, forcing Grace to confront some hard truths. In order to keep a promise to her mother, Grace must change her plans completely. Though Rose had warned her about the Easton family, her terrible in-laws, Grace soon finds her life becoming entwined with that of the handsome Andrew Easton, who, she discover, is not all that terrible after all!

Here is how I picture Grace and Andrew.  I hope you can be patient, because this story will not come out until early 2018. Prayers appreciated as I continue to write Grace’s story!

Since I am Canadian I find that interesting, also I just borrowed Irish Meadows from the Public Library, and I have just started reading it now.
Enjoy realistic novels by Christian authors that aren’t preachy but a source of real life encouragement.

      Hi Edith,
I’m so glad you’re reading “Irish Meadows” and I hope you like it! It was truly a gift, writing that book!
And I agree. Christian books should be uplifting, not preachy. That’s what I try to do with my stories.
Thanks for taking the time to comment!
      Hugs,
      Susan

I am reading, and enjoying, THE BEST OF INTENTIONS but am thoroughly confused about the timing of Christian’s birth. In a letter to Grace dated August 1, 1916 (chapter 16) Rose says Frank has been gone 2 years. If she was pregnant with Frank’s child, wouldn’t he have been born by the time she wrote the letter? And yet, Grace is tending an infant Christian in 1919…??? Maybe as I read on I will find out that Frank came home for a visit before he died in the war. Can you enlighten me?
